Ramadan Countdown: 25 days!
“Volunteering leads to greater life satisfaction and lower rates of depression,” according to a research report from the Corporation for National and Community Service. The studies also show a link to volunteering, improved health, and a greater sense of confidence and self-worth. No wonder the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) said that “…truly [charity] is a purifier” (Fiqh-us-Sunnah vol. 3 n. 3). Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) encouraged volunteer work and service, telling people to “…do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately… the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even though it were little” (hadith 471).
Last year the Ramadan Tent Volunteers shared many memorable, joyful experiences together and they would like to invite you to join them this year. Any amount of help you’d like to contribute to the Ramadan Tent Project is welcome, even if it is a short amount of time, effort, donation, or anything you can give. You can also come to participate and enjoy the atmosphere and community spirit because even a smile is charity.
